Speaking for myself I discovered him because my adoptive aunt is into anything British and had a bunch of Paddington books on her bookshelf.Recently it was confirmed by Studiocanal that Paddington 3 is officially in active development. That said according to Wikipedia, "Paddington books have been translated into 30 languages across 70 titles and have sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. He's such a part of the national identity now. British kids have grown up with him since the 50's. They don't need to market it outside England because he's already a classic of British literature. Totally forgot to say that it definitely feels like a wes anderson movie too.
But this one takes it up a notch both as a sequel and movie. To those asking about whether to watch P1 before this, id recommend you to yes. It was but an innocent post and it somehow blew up, honestly didnt know this was loved THIS much. Genuinely cant wait for 3, i hope it lives upto 2.Įdit:- Holy.shit. Its well put and the ending is absolutely beautiful. Oh also, in some sequences the editing was effortless and just flowed so well together. I think its a vast improvement to its predecessor aswell. You seriously cannot hate this, its legit impossible.
The writing and performances both are wonderful. I mean it touches upon relevant and modern themes so delicately. its easily one of the best "children movies" ever made.
