Thirteen weeks after its release, Final Fantasy VIII had earned more than US$50 million in sales, making it the fastest-selling Final Fantasy title of all time until Final Fantasy XIII. It was voted the 22nd-best game of all time by readers of the Japanese magazine Famitsu. The game was positively received by critics and was a commercial success.
The music was scored by Nobuo Uematsu, series regular, and in a series first, the theme music is a vocal piece, “Eyes on Me”, performed by Faye Wong. Use card mod on rare cards right before disc 4, once you get the Ragnorok back you can go inside the ship and play cards with the cc members ( so long as you beat "King" in the side quest) and they have all the rare cards that the Card queen doesn't have. Later in the game in Esthar when monsters attack you will find a soldier bent over the ledge talk to him he will scream and attack a fight with an Elnoyle begins and after it you will always get 2 Energy Crystals run off the screen and come back and he will be back Do it again and again and again.
